The Philly Spring Cleanup is Saturday, April 11, 2026. Wynnefield Community’s project will focus on 56th Street from Upland Way to Gainor Road. We are also accepting requests for volunteers to support your own individual block cleanup. Get involved with WCNA’s Political Education Committee. Do you want to understand how neighborhoods are impacted by political laws? Learn whose on the ballot for the 2026 Primary Election? Voting is how we protect Pennsylvania democracy. Get ready to do your part in 2026 at http://vote.pa/register. Join WCNA for a Community Resources Day of Education on Saturday, April 18, 2026, begins at 11:00AM, followed by lunch 1-2pm and our Voting Seminar begins at 2:00PM. Our special guest will be the Committee of Seventy and invited to attend are many of the Primary Election 2026 candidates.
Wynnefield expansion and updates: WCNA is happy to have been selected as one of the Indego Bike Share 2026 Ambassadors. We are looking forward to hosting group rides, community events and providing resources and education in order to increase engagement and accessibility in our Wynnefield neighborhood. A new Indego Bike Station is nearly finished at The Hawthorn Apartments, 1818 N. 53rd Street, 19131. New Indego Bike Station was recently completed and installed at the Overbrook Station. Indego representatives have been working in partnership with the Wynnefield Community over the last 12-24 months, touring the neighborhood and sharing ideas for potential Indego sites. Bala Cynwyd Middle School’s Advanced Choir was recently featured on 6-ABC News in December 2024 for giving the gift of song and spreading holiday cheer through their superb performance at the Wynnefield Community Neighborhood Association’s 4th Annual Holiday Toy Giveaway! A big shoutout to Ms. Sterner-Porreca and the Advanced Choir for sharing the magic of the holidays with our community! The Knights, under the direction of music teacher Anne Sterner-Porreca, filled the event with festive spirit and joy, as their beautiful harmonies and vibrant vocals not only brought smiles to attendees but also highlighted the power of music to unite and inspire during the season of giving.
